James Wilton Marlow, 89, of Panama City, FL, died February 18, 2014.
Jim was born in Bonifay, FL December 30, 1924 to Jack and Annie Marlow. He attended Bay County Schools, and then served in the US Navy from 1942 until 1945. Jim served his country as a hospital corpsman in the South Pacific. After the war, he resided in California where he worked for the US Post Office. In later years he was self employed. Jim moved back to Panama City in 1997, and was a member of Deerpoint Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Annie Marlow and by his three sisters, Irene Way, Montez Marker and her husband Bill and Eulene Sexton and her husband Kenneth.
Survivors include his three brothers, William J. Marlow, Jr. (Mary Ellen), Gerald Marlow (Patricia) and Wayne Marlow; his granddaughter, Sara Sowell of Arkansas; a brother-in-law Bob Way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, February 21, 2014, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00.
