Elmer F. Phipps, 80, of Panama City, passed away in Covenant Hospice Care Center on Feb 24th at 10:55pm.

Elmer was born on July 15th 1933 in London, Kentucky and was preceded in death by his mother: Gustava, his father: Emmett, and two sisters: Thelma and Sally.

He was survived by his wife of 35 years: Mary Phipps, their two daughters: Sondra M. Santana (Edwin) and Christina Phipps (Timothy), two grandsons: Nicholas (5) and Jacob (1) Santana, three sisters and three brothers: Sharon Elbrecht (Jerry) of Aurora, IN / Jenny Hammons (Bill) of Dillsboro, IN / Judy Phipps Heck of Lawrenceburg, IN / Elvin Phipps of Fountain, FL / Doug Phipps of Cromwell, MN / Jim Phipps (Carol) of Avon Park, FL, in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews and several close family friends: Kathy Powers, Tony Copeland, and Marcus Samuels.

Elmer was a United States Army Veteran, a lifetime member of The American Legion Post 239 of Lawrenceburg, IN, and a retired truck driver from the Batesville Casket Co. after 26 years of safe driving. He was also a long time resident of Aurora Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at Brock's Home Town Funeral Home in Callaway, Florida on Friday, March 14th at 2 o'clock p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Covenant Hospice or to a trust set up for his widow, Mary, at the following web address: https://fundly.com/surviving-spouse-relief-fund.
