Josefa "Josie" Race, 76, of Panama City Beach, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at her home.
Josie was born in Malaga, Spain, and lived in Bay County since 1995. She was a homemaker, and Catholic by faith. Josie loved the outdoors, working with her plants, and animals.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Rick Race; two brothers, Manolo and Miguel Porras of Spain; three sisters, Isabel Porras of Spain, Reme Johnson of Tarpon Springs and Teresa Collins of Leesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Jessie Nauman of Tampa and Christina Collins of California.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Josie's name to Covenant Hospice, 107 E. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
