Robert C. Winegar, 85, of Fountain, passed away Friday evening at a local nursing facility.
Robert was born in Kingsport, Tenn., and lived in Bay County for the past 14 months. He served two years in the US Army as a medic before joining the US Air Force. Robert served 19 years in the Air Force as a flight engineer, retiring as a MSGT. After his military career, he worked as a manager and supervisor for the Southland Corporation, retiring after 18 years. He then worked with WalMart for 7 years, and retired a third time.
Survivors include his son, Ronald Winegar (Sharon Hull) of Fountain; a brother, Paul Winegar and sister, Doris Way, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors offered by the US Air Force will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
