Calvin C. Cooper, 89, of Tallahassee, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born on Jan. 16, 1925 in Monticello, Fla. and grew up in Wakulla Country, Fla.

Calvin retired as a civilian electrical supervisor from Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Fla. He served as an aerial engineer in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He was also a lifetime member of NFFE/NARFE and PTA. Calvin was of Baptist faith.

Calvin was preceded by his wife of over 50 years, Leola R. Cooper (1996) and his son, Andy Cooper (2010). He is survived by his daughters and their husbands: Martha and Gerry Cunningham and Janice and Derrill Jones; four grandchildren and their spouses: Gordon and Erin Cunningham, Cecil and Kaitlyn Cunningham, Tammy and Joe Young (all from Tallahassee) and Vance and Connie Jones of Callahan, Fla.; six great- grandchildren: Christina, Andrew, Ashlee (Daniel), Tamra, Nicholas, and Lucy; one great-great-grandson: Zacary.

The visitation will be at Abbey Funeral Home on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee, Fla., on Sunday April 13, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Abbey Funeral Home, with interment at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
