Robert C. Fowler, of Panama City Beach, died April 2, 2014 in Fallbrook, Calif., at the home of his daughter. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean, in 2008 after 52 years of marriage.
Bob was born in Granite City, Ill., on Dec. 10, 1931, and was the son of Mildred and Chester Fowler. He had one sister, June Heger (Fred) of Brentwood, Mo., who survives.
Bob was a banker and worked for many years as a senior loan officer before retiring and moving to Florida. His hobby was playing duplicate contract bridge and he was ranked as a Gold Life Master by the American Contract Bridge League. He managed and directed the Panama City Bridge Club for many years and also directed games at the Beach Club. Bob loved to travel and with Jean's help, directed bridge games aboard several cruise ships. Bob also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and the many pets his daughters owned.
He is survived by his three daughters; Susan Dunne (Craig) of Fallbrook, Calif., Lynne Carter (Mike) of New Castle, Ind., and Julie Hall (companion Russ Wilson) of Panama City, Fla. He also had three grandchildren, Jared Wiser of Plainfield, Ind., Jacob Carter of Bloomington, Ind., and Kaleigh Carter of New Castle, Ind. His brother-in-laws Frank Clarke (Marsha) and Walter Clarke of Cincinnati, Ohio, also survive along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Kent Forest Lawn chapel at 11 a.m. with visitation an hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
