Linda Ruth Wise, 66, was born in Panama City on July 16, 1947, to Clarence and Isabel Brogdon. On May 17, 2014, with her family by her side, her mother and daddy welcomed her to her Heavenly home. She was a sweet, generous, and compassionate woman of God always putting her family above herself. Her joy came from spending time with them, reading her Bible and playing crossword puzzles and hand-held video games.

Linda grew up in Bay County and graduated from Rutherford High School in 1965. She was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church where she was active for many years. She began working in the Judge's office at the Bay County Courthouse after high school, and after several years was appointed by the state legislature as the Bay County Clerk of County Court. After raising her son, Chris, who was the light of her life, she returned to the workforce at Clear Channel Radio. She touched the lives of so many people with her sweet spirit, humor, offering prayer or just listening when you needed a friend.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Clarence and Isabel Brogdon, and her late husband, Ronnie Kiah.

Linda is survived by her husband of 36 years, Charles Wise; son, Chris Wise and her daughter in love, Susan; stepson, Dennis Kiah; brother, Leslie Brogdon (Debbie); and sister, Doris McManus (Don), all of Panama City. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, John McCorkel (Diane), Clark Burr (Cheryl); and sisters-in-law, Rena' Lentini and Connie Tibbetts, and a host of other loving relatives.

Funeral services for Linda will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5-7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hood, Clay Lassiter, Bryant Campbell, Jeff Brogdon, Tony McManus and Greg Seymour. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to Emmaus United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1206 Hwy 2297 Panama City, FL 32404, or the in memory of Linda.
