Marcella Louise Edmonds, 93, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Mrs. Edmonds was born in Atchison, KS on May 11, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edmonds, Sr., mother Martha Townsend, stepfather George Townsend her brother James Hickman, sister Pauline Freeman and son-in-law Don Hood.

She is survived by her daughter Sandy Hood, son William Edmonds, Jr., four grandchildren, Michael Hood, Daniel Hood, William Edmonds III, and Robert Edmonds; and 4 great-granddaughters, Kaitlin Hood, Isabel Edmonds, Lori Edmonds and Abagail Edmonds.

She was the last surviving charter member of the Leavenworth, Kansas VFW Women's Auxiliary Eight and Forty, a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother. After graduating high school, she moved to New Jersey but returned to Kansas when WWII broke out, and was a cashier at the Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas PX. She and her husband moved to Panama City in 1978. She was a homemaker most of her life, but she handmade doll clothes which she donated to the Salvation Army at Christmas, and custom scrubs which she donated to the local hospitals.

Graveside funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Rascoe officiating.
