Carol Clarkson, 64, of Panama City Beach, Fla., beloved wife of Thomas Clarkson, peacefully passed to the Lord Thursday July 31, 2014. Born in New York City on Jan. 15, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Carmela Tessitore Salemmo and had been a Florida resident for over twenty years, prior to moving to Florida Carol was a Westport resident for twenty years. Carol was a registered nurse whose dedication and caring will be greatly missed by all. Her love of helping others will be her legacy. She was the Miracle Girl who lived only to give help to anyone who needed it. Carol fought carcinoid cancer for eight years without complaints. Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband Tom, she is survived by a daughter; Cara Clarkson Singer and her husband, Joseph, of Norwalk; a son, Craig Clarkson of Panama City Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Alyssa G. Singer, Joseph A. Singer, Anthony C. Singer and Davis Clarkson; a brother, Alexander Salemmo and his wife, Antonietta, of Queens; a sister, Rose Rebori and her husband, Daniel, of Huntington, N.Y.; her very special Godmother and Aunt, Mary Scollo of Yonkers, N.Y.; nephews, Richard Todd Rebori, his wife Emily and their two sons, William and Alexander of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and Robert Kurt Rebori and his wife Nicole of Ossining, N.Y.; and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday Aug. 8, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk, Conn. Interment followed at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, N.Y.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 1214 Moylan Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32407. Friends may visit the family in the Church Vestibule from 10:15 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A reception will be held in Parish Hall following the Memorial Mass.
