Michael "Mike" P. Griner, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010.

He was born in Panama City on Jan. 19, 1959, to Perry Leon and Mary Catherine Griner. He started his career in the meat cutting business when he was 16, working at several local grocery stores. He was a meat cutter for Publix Super Markets. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and off-road riding. He will be most remembered by his love of Jeeps and 4x4s.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Leon and Mary Catherine Griner; and in-laws, Norman R. and Edie E. Stephens.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Linda Gail Griner; sons, Michael Paul Griner II and Mason Perry Griner; and daughter, Lyndsay Anne-Marie Griner. He also is survived by his half-sister, Betty Jean Griner, all of Panama City.

A special thanks to his friends, Chris McAdams, Mahlon Hendley, Skipper Hutchinson and Mercedes Hopson for their love and support.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, in the chapel of Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Hazard officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at the funeral home. The family also will receive friends one hour before services Friday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael Paul Griner's name to Heritage Bible Church Building Fund, 3380 State Ave., Panama City, FL 32405, 850-785-9897.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Chris McAdams, Mahlon Hendley, John Camperman, Al Harris, Terry McGennis, Denny Groves and Martin Burst, and honorary pallbearer will be Skipper Hutchinson.
