Mr. John Patrick Hooban, 63, of Panama City Beach, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his residence.
John was born March 20, 1949 in Burlington, Vermont to Joseph and Lillian Hooban. He moved here in 2006, from Birmingham, AL. John retired from the Birmingham Police Department.

He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. John was a member of AMVET 2298, VFW 8205, Veterans Task Force of Northwest Florida. He was the Chairman of the Military Welcome Center at the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport and Officer of the Bay County Veterans Council. He loved serving the veteran community and helping children.

John was survived by his wife Teresa Hooban of Panama City Beach; two daughters: Sarah Hooban and Jennifer Hooban of Nashville, TN; three brothers; four sisters; and two granddaughters: Emma Tarwater and Chloe Tarwater of Nashville, TN.

Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Darrell Hertz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
