Shirley Ann (Jennings) Welch-Bazzel, 76, of Panama City, FL passed away on Thursday evening, March 7, 2013 at Glen Cove Nursing Pavilion surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born in Sam-son, AL and moved to Panama City with her family as a young child. She spent many years in the banking industry as a realtor and a mortgage broker and was a long-time member of Calvin B. Koesey Sunday School Class at St. Andrew Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years: Thomas E. Bazzel; two sons: William B. Welch, Jr. (Debra) of Rembert, SC and Thomas Clayton (Clay) Bazzel (Cindy) of Panama City; her daughter: Barbara Welch Pilcher (Michael) of Panama City; sister: Sheila Moland (Kevin) of Hahira, GA; six grandchildren: William B. Welch, III of Rembert, SC, Dustin Pilcher (Sarah) of Tallahassee, FL, Heather Welch of St. Petersburg, FL, Alicia Jones (Colin) of Tallahassee, FL, Ephraim Bazzel and Elliott Bazzel of Panama City; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband William B. (Billy) Welch, Sr., her parents O.C. (Clifford) and Barbara Kirkland and grandmother Pearl S. Jennings (Big Mama).
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers are: Dustin Pilcher, William Welch, III, Jerry Welch, Steve Jennings, Keith Tagney and Michael Tagney.
