Emmett O'Neal Jones, 88, of Panama City Beach, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the War Veteran's Home in Monroe, Louisiana.

Emmett was born on April 18, 1924 in Tampa, Florida. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Pythagoras Mason Lodge #358. Emmett owned and operated Emmett Jones Texaco Gas Station from 1955 – 2000.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Peggy Joyce Jones and Edie Allen Jones. He is survived by his two daughters, Sherry Shockley (Ben), Carolyn Thomas (Jeff); four sons, Emmett Jones, Jr., Carl Allen (Pam), Boozer Allen (Molly), Terry Allen; granddaughter, Lauren Allen and an additional six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Pythagoras Masonic Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 7282, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 in memory of Emmett Jones.
