Kenneth Charles Haddox, Sr., 82, of Panama City Beach, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014, in New Orleans, LA.

Mr. Haddox was born in Huntington, WVA, and lived in Panama City Beach since 1999, moving here from Enterprise, AL. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired as Information Manager in Civil Service at Ft. Rucker, AL after 22 years service. Prior to working at Ft. Rucker, he worked at Cape Canaveral on the Apollo Program. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his work on the Apollo 13 mission. In addition, he received the Skylab Award for his work on The World's First Space Station.

Mr. Haddox enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. Mr. Haddox was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jane Haddox in 2010.

Survivors include his children, Kenneth C. "Casey" Haddox, Jr. of Southport, Steve Haddox and wife Becky of Dothan and Nancy Moncrief and Steve Dring of Panama City; his grandchildren, Amy Haddox, Heather Moncrief, Liza Moncrief, Jorja Haddox and Seth Haddox; 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Austin and Aiden; and a special friend Marguerite Hebert.

A graveside funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Gardens with the Rev. Steve Irwin officiating. Interment with military honors offered by the US Army Honor Guard will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, January 24, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
