James Franklin Anderson, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy Fisher Anderson, and in July they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by three children: Michael Anderson (Sandy) of Bradenton, FL; Richard Anderson of Panama City, FL; Cheryl Corman of St. Petersburg, FL; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Isaac & Adelphia Anderson, and their youngest daughter, Sandra Koone.

He was born in Panama City, FL on June 10, 1932. Serving 22 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Policeman, and then as a Recruiter, he became the #2 recruiter in the nation. Later, he was promoted to Recruiting Supervisor and retired as a Master Sargent in 1973. After the Air Force, he then served an additional 19 years as a Field Examiner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL, at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014. Additional service information is available at www.mohnfuneralhome.com.
