SHAMOKIN — Winifred M. (Renn) Mestlin, 86, a lifelong resident of Shamokin, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2012, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
Born Feb. 17, 1928, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late William and Hilda (Emerich) Renn.
She was a graduate of Shamokin High School.
On June 7, 1947, she married John C. Mestlin, who passed away in January 1971.
She worked in the retail industry for various establishments in the area.
She was a member of the Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Redman Social Club and the Sweet Adeline Choir group, and was a social member of the Independence Fire Company.
Surviving are two sons, Terry Mestlin, husband of Barbara, of Ranshaw, and John Mestlin, husband of Roseann, of Van Wert, Ohio; a grandson, John Mestlin, husband of Jill; two granddaughters, Tammy Nazih, wife of Alex, and Kimberly Dormer; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Mestlin, Emily Mestlin, Kamilyah Nazih, Gracie Nazih, Deliliah Nazih and Abner Nazih; two sisters, Beverly Seik and Carol Campbell, and a brother, Darwin Renn.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Renn.
