SHENANDOAH — Willard Fisher, 86, formerly of Lavelle, passed away Monday Jan. 7, 2012, at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Lavelle Dec. 23, 1926, he was the son of the late James and Maude (Snyder) Fisher.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.
He was married to Gisele (Fix) Fisher, who preceded him in death in 1999.
He worked for many years at Laubenstein Manufacturing, Ashland, until retirement.
He graduated from Butler Township High School with the class of 1944, was a member of the Lavelle AMVETS and Coal Spring Hunting Club in Center County and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Genevieve M. Manbeck, of Frackville, and Doris Oertner, of Tamaqua; a son, Daniel Fisher, of Northampton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, James Fisher, in 2000, a brother, Charles Fisher, and a sister, Hattie Yost.
