KULPMONT — Louise B. Nestico, 86, formerly of 738 Chestnut St., passed away Friday, May 2, 2014.
She was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Charles and Liberata (Fiorenza) Verano. She was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont.
Louise was educated in the Grant Grade School, Shamokin, and was a 1945 graduate of Shamokin High School.
On Sept. 9, 1950, in St. Edward Church, Shamokin, she married the late James V. Nestico, who preceded her in death April 19, 1995.
She worked as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly a member of St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont, and also a member of the Golden Angels.
Louise is survived by a daughter, Rosanne Nolan and her husband, Robert; a son, James Nestico and his wife, Deborah; her grandchildren, Amy Purcell and her husband, Matthew Fatz, Nicole Nestico, Jackie Purcell and James Nestico; a great-grandchild, Brady Fatz; a sister, Theresa Verano; a brother, Eugene Verano and his wife, Geraldine; two sisters-in-law, Florence Verano and Joan Varano, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Verano and Anthony Varano; a sister, Elizabeth Berran, and a brother-in-law, William Berran.

NESTICO — Louise B. Nestico, 86, formerly of 738 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday with transferral prayers at 10 a.m. at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VNA, 21 W. Independence St., Shamokin 17872., the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont 17834, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School, 2001 Clinton Ave., Coal Township 17866, or to the donor's favorite charity.
