Michael Molesevich Obituary

MOUNT CARMEL — Michael Molesevich, 85, of 323 S. Poplar St., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Marion Heights, March 12, 1927, a son of the late Naum and Matrona (Yazembiak) Molesevich.

He attended Kulpmont schools and earned his diploma while enlisted in the U.S. Army.

He was a decorated veteran of World War II, having received the World War II Victory Ribbon and Meritorious Unit Award.

In 1983, after a 30-year career, Mike retired as a salesman from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In his early years, he worked for the former Reed's Dairy, Shamokin.

On Sept. 9, 1950, in Holy Cross Church, Mount Carmel, he married the former Genevieve "Genny" M. Lausas, who preceded him in death Oct. 29, 2008.

Michael was a former member of the former Holy Cross Church, and was a member of Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel. He was a life member of American Legion Post 231, Kulpmont, and American Hose and Chemical Company, Mount Carmel. He served as secretary for Anthracite Firemen's Relief Association, and for many years was a jury commissioner for Northumberland County.

Michael was also the "camp cook" for the Spirit of '76 Hunting Camp, Potter County.

Surviving are four sons, Dennis Molesevich and his wife, Mary, of Mount Carmel, Michael Molesevich, of Lewisburg, Thomas Molesevich and his wife, Barbara, of Den-Mar Gardens, and Mark Molesevich and his wife, Gerri, of Camp Hill; three daughters, Christina Stewart and her husband, Daniel, of Wilmington, Mass., Maria Tomassetti and her husband, John, of Paradise, and Ann Molesevich and her companion, Thomas Haviland, of Allentown; nine grandchildren, Dennis Molesevich Jr. and his wife, Michelle, Jeffrey Molesevich and his wife, Kerri, Thomas Molesevich Jr. and his wife, Sophia, Karah Molesevich and her companion, Alvero Toledo, Luke and Garrett Molesevich, Mark and Matthew Stewart and Marik Tomassetti; two great-granddaughters, Lia Grace Molesevich and Morgan Rylee Molesevich; a sister, Helen Wooton, of Atlantic City, N.J.; his good friend, Paul Vincenzes, of Mount Carmel, and several nieces and nephews.

He was the eighth of nine children and was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

MOLESEVICH — Michael Molesevich, 85, of 323 S. Poplar St., Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Mount Carmel Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 372, Mount Carmel 17851.
