Adolph W. Ciborowski

COAL TOWNSHIP — Adolph W. Ciborowski, 82, of 1723 Pulaski Ave., passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at home.

Born Aug. 31, 1930, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Walter and Dominica (Purcell) Ciborowski.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

On July 10, 1954, he married Theresa Ann Purcell, who preceded him in death.

He worked as a butcher for Shamokin Packing Company and Clark's Packing Company.

He was a member of Mother Cabrini Church and a lifelong member of the East End Fire Company, Coal Township.

Surviving are four children, Mike Ciborowski and his wife, Robin, of Mechanicsville, Va., Kate Chatman and her husband, Alex, of Dumfries, Va., Allan Ciborowski, of Coal Township, and Robert Ciborowski and his wife, Eileen, of Coal Township; four grandchildren, Alex Chatman Jr., Victor Chatman, Sean Ciborowski and Megan Ciborowski, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Barnie and Walter and five sisters, Helen, Sophie, Nellie, Hattie and Jeane.

CIBOROWSKI — Adolph W. Ciborowski, 82, of 1723 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Mother Cabrini Church. Committal services will follow at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Coal Township. Calling hours will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Shamokin/Coal Township Public Library, or Hope Ministries, 863 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, PA 17866.
