PAXINOS — Aloysius Tomcavage, 85, of 561 Airport Road, formerly of 1114 N. Vine St., Shamokin, went to the Lord while surrounded by his loving family at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Ray Griffith, where he and his wife, Cathy, resided for the past three years.
Al was born on March 5, 1928, in Shamokin, a son of the late Rose (Wilk) and Frank Tomcavage.
On Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 1949, in Maryland, he married Catherine Marie (Pavelko) Tomcavage who survives him.
He was a parishioner of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin.
Aloysius worked as a superintendent of renovation of homes for Northumberland County. He also worked for John F. Miles, Co., David Shroyer Dress Co. and was self-employed as a remodeler of homes. With his wife, Cathy, he owned and operated the K&K Craft Shop.
Al's hobbies included bowling and playing cards with his family and friends in the summer and he also enjoyed crafting. He was very thankful for the care and visits from the Visiting Nurse Association which always brightened his day.
In addition to Catherine, his loving wife of 65 years, Al is survived by a daughter, Christine M., wife of Raymond Griffith, with whom he resided in Paxinos; five grandsons, Scott Kreisher and his wife, Denise, Daniel Shroyer and his wife, Kelly, Brian Shroyer, Kevin Shroyer and his wife, Jenny, and Keith Shroyer and his fiance, Sueellen Yost; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and K.J.; a son-in-law, William Kreisher, of Bloomsburg, and three nephews.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kreisher, and a sister, Jean Budnick.
TOMCAVAGE — Aloysius Tomcavage, 85, of 561 Airport Road, Paxinos, and formerly of 1114 N. Vine St., Shamokin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother Cabrini Church, 200 N. Shamokin St. at Webster St., Shamokin. Interment of his cremains will follow the Mass in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, Family and friends are invited to call at the visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m., at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W.
