Anthony J. Gaughan Sr.

LEVITTOWN — Anthony J. Gaughan Sr., 83, passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Aria Health Frankford.

Born in Mount Carmel and raised in Centralia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Esther Gaughan. He moved to Levittown 57 years ago.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Mary A. Gaughan, who survives.

Until his retirement in 1995, Anthony was the owner/operator of both the Blue Roof Bar and Grill and Big Daddy G's for many years.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Levittown, the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph the Worker Council 4215 and American Legion Post 960. He was the past commander of Terchon VFW Post 5542. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Anthony J. Jr. (Debra), of Hainesport, N.J., Brian (Catherine) of Marlboro, N.J., Donna M. Salley (John), of Levittown and Mary Pepe (Joseph) of Levittown; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Gaughan, of Bloomsburg; two sisters, Jeannie Reilly, of Wilburton, and Joleen Yokemick, of Mount Carmel, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Gaughan.
