Antoinette "Toni" (Scicchitano) Bach

KULPMONT — Antoinette "Toni" "Schicky" Scicchitano Bach, 70, of 549 Chestnut St., died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her days were filled surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born in Kulpmont, Oct. 18, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Teresa (Varano) Scicchitano.

She resided in Kulpmont her entire life.

Antoinette was educated at Saint Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic High School. She retired after 15 years of service with the Department of Labor and Industry's workers compensation division. Prior to that, she managed the Kulpmont Pharmacy.

On June 27, 1964, in Saint Mary's Church, Kulpmont, she married John Bach, who preceded her in death June 12, 1997.

She was an avid supporter of Holy Angel's Parish, where she was actively involved in bingo, fundraising and church picnics, and served on the financial committee. She also belonged to many other organizations that supported the community.

Nana loved her family unconditionally. Her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews were her life. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and especially enjoyed cooking and baking.

Antoinette was a strong supporter of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School, where her three grandchildren attend. She volunteered for many years for the local youth booster organizations and the Shepherd's Pantry.

She was a loving, kind and caring woman who always thought of others before herself.

Antoinette was a respected woman and an ideal role model. She will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Mary Teresa Komara and her husband, Patrick, of Kulpmont, Kathleen Bach, of Kulpmont, and Michelle Calabrese and her husband, David, of Waverly, N.Y. Her grandchildren were the light of her life: Nicole and Mary Frances Komara, Bella Bach and Saleena and John Andrew Calabrese.

Antoinette was the youngest of nine children. She is survived by two brothers, Dominic and Joseph Scicchitano, both of Kulpmont, and sisters, Catherine Maciejewski and her husband, John, of Kulpmont, and Marian Pickering, of Coal Township.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Bruno and James, and a baby sister, Marian.

BACH — Antoinette "Toni" "Schicky" (Scicchitano) Bach, 70, of 549 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today, with a Christian wake at 8 p.m., and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School, 2001 Clinton Ave., Coal Township 17866, for the creation of a scholarship awarded to an active member of the Holy Angel's parish attending the school.
