Charles D. Heintzelman

SHAMOKIN — Charles D. Heintzelman, 83, of 218 E. Dewart St., passed away at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2013, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township, where he had been staying for about a week.

He was born April 3, 1930, in West Cameron Township, a son of the late John W. and Mary Elizabeth (Ryan) Heintzelman.

He attended West Cameron schools.

Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

On April 21, 1950, in Herndon, he married Anna P. Long, who survives.

He worked for 22 years for the Elco Cabinet Co. and last worked as an orderly and nursing assistant at Mountain View Manor.

He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Danville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles D. Heintzelman Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Sunbury; a granddaughter, Susan Marie Heintzelman; six step-grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Chrystal, Amy, Allison and Angela Weaver, and two brothers, Russell Heintzelman, of West Cameron Township, and George Heintzelman, of Still Waters.
