COAL TOWNSHIP — Charles J. Bressi Jr., 83, of 2050 Trevorton Road, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
He was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Shamokin, a son of the late Charles J. and Martha (Kane) Bressi.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War
from August 1948 to February 1953.
He worked as a freight truck driver.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Charles formerly was active in local American Legions and VFWs.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Bressi and his wife, Lori, and James Bressi and his wife, Susan, all of Coal Township; a daughter, Dianne D. Bressi, of Coal Township; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Bressi and his wife, Pat, of Coal Township, and Albert Bressi and his wife, Camille, of Kulpmont; five sisters, Dalores Elliot and her husband, Renold, of Elysburg, Eleanor Evans and her husband, Robert, of Shamokin, Mary Castlos, of Shamokin, Tina Wilk, of Coal Township, and Reenie McBride and her husband, Mike, of Numidia, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Bressi and Vincent Bressi.
BRESSI — Charles J. Bressi Jr., 83, of 2050 Trevorton Road, Coal Township. There will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, is in charge of arrangements.
