Daniel G. Bamford

DANVILLE — Daniel G. Bamford, 70, of Paxinos, passed away suddenly at 10:44 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born in Shamokin, Jan. 17, 1942, Dan was a son of the late Melvin and Blanche (Price) Bamford.

A 1959 graduate of Shamokin High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1959 and served as a third class petty officer. He was honorably discharged in January 1963.

On Aug. 15, 1975, he married the former Terrie Maurer, who survives.

Dan worked construction most of his life.

He was a lifetime member of Independence Fire Co. He enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles, and was an avid golfer.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Terrie, are a son, Mike Spade and his wife, Mandy, of Shamokin; a daughter, Brooke Meyer and her husband, Scott; a sister, Shirley Starke and her husband, Robert, and a brother, Thomas Bamford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty and Mildred, both in infancy, and Carole Eckman; five brothers, Robert, John, William, David and James, and a grandson, Michael Spade.

BAMFORD — Daniel G. Bamford, 70, of Paxinos. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elysburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Pastor Keith Maurer officiating. Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Ray W. Rothermel Funeral Home, 389 W.
