David J. Swatski Sr.

KULPMONT - David J. Swatski Sr., 73, of 1015 Chestnut St., died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, in his residence.

He was born in Shamokin, Nov. 1, 1944, a son of the late Albert and Blanche (Glodak) Swatski.

David was educated in St. Casimir's Grade School and a graduate of Kulpmont High School.

He was employed as a pipe fitter with Union Local 520, Harrisburg.

He attended the Church of the Holy Angels in Kulpmont and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the American Legion, VFW and East End Fire Company, all of Kulpmont, as well as a life member of the Marion Heights Fire Company. He also belonged to the Jan Sobieski Club of Kulpmont, was an officer of the Kulpmont Sportsman Club for more than 20 years and a member of the West End Fire Company in Kulpmont. He served as vice chairman for the Kulpmont-Marion Heights Sewer Authority.

Survivors include two sisters, Joan Long, of Shamokin, and Frances Forney, of Rochester, New York; a brother, Joseph Swatski, of Lancaster; four children, David Swatski, Anthony Swatski and his wife, Sirami, of Atlanta, Jeanne Fortune and her husband, Rich, of Coal Township, and Gwendolen Drahnak and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Swatski.



SWATSKI - David J. Swatski, 73, of 1015 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home, C.J. Lucas, supervisor.
