MOUNT CARMEL — Dennis William Hornberger, 51, of 330 W. Sixth St., died at 2:22 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
Born March 22, 1959, in Shamokin, he was a son of June (Grimm) Hornberger and the late Richard A. Hornberger, who died April 26, 1999.
He attended Shamokin schools.
He worked as a mechanic before he retired.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Alicia Hornberger and Benjamin and Jessica Hornberger, all of Mount Carmel; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Ron Hoover, of Tennessee; three granddaughters, Skye, Cameryn and Angel; a companion, April Patterson, of Mount Carmel; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Linda Hornberger, of Trevorton Road; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Peggy Pahutka, of Coal Township, and Linda and Ken Fortune, of Gowen City; a brother-in-law, Norman Pahutka, of Ranshaw; a sister-in-law, Sandra Hornberger, of Shamokin and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bryan Hornberger, who died Feb. 17, 2000.
