BALTIMORE, Md. — Edward "Murphy" A. Walsh, 85, of Dundalk, Md., and formerly of Mount Carmel, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his residence. He had been in failing health for nearly two years.
Born in Mount Carmel, June 30, 1927, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Rozmerski) Walsh.
He graduated in 1945 from Mount Carmel Township High School, Locust Gap.
He served in the U.S. Navy
He was married in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont, Sept. 8, 1951, to the former Catherine L. Procopio, who preceded him in death Aug. 7, 1992.
He was a retired steel worker and had resided in the Baltimore area since 1957 when he began employment with Bethlehem Steel.
He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and American Legion Post 38, Dundalk.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas and Kevin and his wife, Amy, all of Baltimore, Md., and Edward, of West Virginia; a daughter, Susan (Walsh) Lazarski, and her husband, Kevin, of Paxinos; nine grandchildren, Amy (Lazarski) Rhinard, and her husband, Christopher, Kris Walsh, Jennifer Lazarski, Edward Allen Walsh, Kathleen (Katie) Lazarski, Brandon Walsh, Curtis Walsh, Emily Walsh and Tyler Walsh; three sisters, Catherine Walsh, of Strong, Bernice Bane, of Philadelphia, and Anna Mae Stellmach, and her husband, Raymond, of Barnegat, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie (Walsh) Sentkoski, and a brother, James Walsh.
WALSH — Edward "Murphy" A. Walsh, 85, of Dundalk, Md., and formerly of Mount Carmel. A wake service will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk, Md., 21222. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Hope Church, Dundalk, Md. Interment will be in the Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, Baltimore, Md.
