DANVILLE — Edward P. Hennessey, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville.
Born Sept. 6, 1932, in Dooleyville, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Catharine (Gaughan) Hennessey. He lived in Mount Carmel until 1999 when he and his wife moved to Riverside.
He was a 1950 graduate of Our Lady High School, Mount Carmel.
Edward served his county in the U.S. Army during the Korean War
He married Margaret C. Schlegel, who survives. Edward's passing ends a marital union of 56 years.
Ed was employed by PPL, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed fishing. He loved to watch racing and football, especially Notre Dame.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Ebby) Kort and her husband, Paul, of Riverside; a son, Edward M. Hennessey and his wife, Traci, of Northumberland; three granddaughters, Laura Richards and her husband, Jason, and Sarah Romansik and her husband, Kevin, of Riverside, and Kiera Hennessey, of Northumberland and two great-grandsons, Callaghan and Jaxson Romansik, of Riverside.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Kulick, of Arlington, Va., and Mary Ludes, of Mount Carmel.
