EDISON, N.J. — Edward R. McIntyre, 80, of 11B Alva Court, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Haven Hospice JFK Medical Center. He had been at his present address since 1991.
Born in Shamokin, Jan. 17, 1932, he was a son of the late Edward and Ruth (Nahodil) McIntyre.
He was a graduate of Coal Township High School.
Edward entered the U.S. Air Force
June 29, 1951, from Harrisburg. During his enlistment, he served with the 3081st Operations Squadron and received the following medals: the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defence Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He received an honorable discharge July 16, 1958, from Parks AFB, Calif.
He was married in Shamokin, Feb. 18, 1960, to Helen Fitzpatrick, who survives.
He was employed in chemical engineering as a laborer at Stabilized Pigments.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by two daughters, Patricia Pelicano, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Deborah Roberts, and her husband, Mark, of Edison, N.J.; two sons, Michael McIntyre, of Edison, N.J., and Robert McIntyre, of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a brother, Ronald McIntyre, and his wife, Evelyn, of Gowen City; a sister, Ann Warnik, and her husband, Stanley, of Shamokin; 10 grandchildren, Beth Ann, Rebecca, Robin, Matthew, Shawn, Frankie, Kyle, Dylan, Dominick and Madalyn Rose, and two great-grandsons, Frankie and William Edward.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Edward Michael.
McINTYRE — Edward R. McIntyre, 80, of 11B Alva Court, Edison, N.J. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Church. Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery, Coal Township. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Shamokin 17872.
