Ernest L. Long

Ernest L. Long, 78, of 378 Windmill Road, Klingerstown, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Upper Mahanoy Twp, on March 20, 1935, a son of the late Amelia (Howerter) and Henry L. Long.

He was a 1953 graduate of the former Mahanoy Joint High School.

He worked at Pennsylvania House Furniture, Lewisburg, and was a self employed farmer prior to his retirement.

Ernie enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M. (Schmidt) Long, to whom he was married for 59 years.

He is also survived by three daughters, Debra J. Reed, of Klingerstown; Marjorie, wife of David Welker, of Klingerstown; and Robin, wife of Bobby Caulder, of Klingerstown; two sons, Bruce Long, of Erdman and Brian, husband of Angela Long, of Shamokin; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, with Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating.

Burial was in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman.
