SHENANDOAH — Evelyn Balsavage, of Fountain Springs, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Maizeville, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Galidia) Weloklnoch.
She attended Gilberton High School, and worked 35 years at North Schuylkill High School until retirement.
On Feb. 2, 1946, she married Anthony Balsavage, who preceded her in death in 1998.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Maizeville.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lewis and Pam Balsavage, of Gordon, Anthony Balsavage and Joseph and Joyce Balsavage, all of Ashland; two sisters, Mary Weloklnoch, of Frackville, and Anna Subich, of Maryland; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Gail Balsavage, in 2011, and brothers and sisters, Michael, Jack, Nick and Irene.
BALSAVAGE — Evelyn Balsavage, of Fountain Springs. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Maizeville, with the Rev. Roman Pitula officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in Frackville. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
