Geraldine "Geri" Whipple

MOUNT CARMEL — Geraldine "Geri" Whipple, 75, of 437 E. Centre St. passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at the Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 16, 1937, in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Kuba) Gulick.

She was a 1957 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

"Geri" married Erland Whipple, who preceded her in death in 2002.

She worked for many years for Newberry's, the White Shield pharmacy and Academy Sports Center until her retirement.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Mount Carmel. An avid bingo player, she loved playing bingo at the Atlas Fire Company.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Whipple, of Mount Carmel, and Earl Whipple, of Fort Washington, and a granddaughter, Charlotte Elizabeth.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a twin brother, John Gulick, and a sister, Rita Gulick Lavine.

WHIPPLE — Geraldine "Geri" Whipple, 75, of 437 E. Centre St., Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel with the Rev. John A. Szada Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Willard Rothermel Funeral Home, Mount Carmel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mount Carmel Public Library, 30 S. Oak St., Mount Carmel 17851.
