Helen J. Mihalik

HARRISBURG — Helen J. Mihalik, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at her home.

Born in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Sickora.

In 1951, in St. Mary's Church, Shamokin, she married Bernard Mihalik, who survives. Her passing ends a marital union of 62 years.

She was a retired worker of the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

She was a founding member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, where she volunteered with the Funeral Luncheon Ministry, and many projects at the church and school. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and the Golden Gems. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Debra Mihalik, of Hummelstown and Ann Marie Orris and her husband, Randall, of Middletown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Sickora.

MIHALIK — Helen J. Mihalik, 85, of Harrisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg with the Rev. Mark T. Wilke as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the Mass. The Hoover Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Harrisburg, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, Pa. 17112.
