Irene V. Wydila

MOUNT CARMEL — Irene V. Wydila, 84, of 303 N. Oak St., passed away early Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at her home.

Born Jan. 26, 1930, in Mount Carmel, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Hynoski) Wisniewski. She was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel.

Irene was a 1947 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.

On Jan. 26, 1952, in Our Mother of Consolation Church, she was married by Rev. Skibinski to Norbert M. Wydila. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Jan. 26, 2014.

She was employed at the Mount Carmel Blouse Factory and worked at Knoebels Amusement Resort for the last 31 years.

Irene was a member of the former Our Mother of Consolation Church, now Divine Redeemer Church. She belonged to the Miraculous Medal and the Altar Rosary Society.

"Rene" was loved by all, especially her family. Her caring nature and bubbly personality added a ray of sunshine to brighten anyone's day.

"Everyone who knew Rene loved her," her family said.

In addition to her husband, Norbert, she is survived by a son Francis Wydila and his wife, Suzanne, of Mount Joy, their daughter, Kari Ann Lorditch, and her husband, Kyle, and their son, Evan James; a daughter, Dianne Wrobel, and her husband, Robert, of Finksburg, Md., and their daughter, Casey Ann Wrobel; a son David Wyatt and his wife, Brooke, of Atlanta, Ga., and their daughters, Paige and Claire, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Veronica Miriello, and a brother, Francis "Fritz" Wisniewski, who was killed in a mining accident at the age of 21, leaving behind his wife, Katherine, and daughter, Debbie Bierschmitt.

WYDILA — Irene V. Wydila, 84, of 303 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel. Relatives, friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Ave., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Martin O. Moran III officiating. Burial will be in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. The family will greet guests from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Saturday at Divine Redeemer Church. The C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J.
