John F. Bickert Jr.

MIFFLINBURG — John Franklin Bickert Jr., 61, of 300 N. Fourth St., passed away at 12:12 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born July 22, 1951, in Danville, he was a son of the late John F. "Jack" Sr., and Eleanor E. (Conrad) Bickert. He lived in Mifflinburg for the last 26 years.

He was a 1969 graduate of Shamokin Area High School.

He worked as an aide at the Laurelton and Selinsgrove centers.

John was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Shamokin and was a former Eagle Scout.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Jackie Lemmon and her husband, Joseph, of Sunbury, and Mrs. Judy Perless and her husband, William, of McGabeysville, Va.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Bickert, who passed away Jan. 4, 1945.

BICKERT — John Franklin Bickert Jr., 61, of 300 N. Fourth St., Mifflinburg. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, with The Rev. Dr. Robert Peiffer officiating. There will be no visitation. The Farrow Funeral Directors, Sixth and Chestnut Streets, Shamokin, are in charge of the arrangements.
