COAL TOWNSHIP — Joseph I. Moroski, 71, of 1502 Tioga St., passed away at home Saturday, May 4, 2013.
He was born in Ranshaw, Sept. 26, 1941, a son of the late Joseph A. and Violet (Krohelski) Moroski.
A graduate of Coal Township High School, Joseph served his country in the U.S. Navy
, having entered active service Sept. 7, 1960. He served with the Seabees in Mobile Construction Battalion Six and was honorably discharged Oct. 9, 1964.
He was employed as a route supervisor for Mary McIntosh and was a lifelong resident of the Shamokin area.
He was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin, as well as the Zerbe Rod and Gun Club, St. Francis Home Association, Fairview Gun Club and Independence Fire Association, where he was a life member.
Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working with wood and was a fine craftsman. He loved yard sales and camping. His favorite places for camping were Nittany Mountain Campground, Hidden Valley and Halfway Dam. He also enjoyed playing cribbage and gin.
Surviving are three children, Joseph H. Moroski and his wife, Wendy, of Dillsburg, Michelle Zarko and her husband, Paul, of Mount Carmel, and Brian M. Moroski and his wife, Michelle, of Gulfport, Miss.; six grandchildren, Joey, Lindsey, Sage and Seth Moroski and Brandon and Morgan Zarko, and a sister, Judy Winnick, of Sunbury.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Klimovich.
MOROSKI — Joseph I. Moroski, 71, of 1502 Tioga St., Coal Township. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, with a friar from Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin, officiating. Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with vigil service at 8 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
