KULPMONT — June E. (Landis) (Rompallo) Kutchen, 82, of 301 N. Sixth St., Apt. 311, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, May 2, 2014, with her son, Larry, and family by her side at SUN Home Hospice, Sunbury.
She was a devout Christian who deeply loved the Lord and her family, whom she was devoted to all her life.
Everyone who met her loved her.
June was born Feb. 19, 1932, a daughter of the late Sydney R. and Catherine (Walk) Landis.
She attended Kulpmont schools and graduated from Kulpmont High School in 1949.
She was first married May 26, 1951, to Stanley "Cunner" Rompallo, who died Dec. 26, 1976. She was then married Aug. 4, 1979, to Francis Kutchen, who died Dec. 5, 2011.
June worked all her life, first at the Kanmak Mill in Kulpmont and then at the cigar factory in Mount Carmel.
She worked for Mount Carmel Area School District in the cafeteria at Kulpmont schools.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Thomas, of Georgia; two sons, Stanley Rompallo Jr., of Kulpmont, and Larry Rompallo and his wife, the former Donna Cesari, of Kulpmont; grandchildren, Tina Callahan and her husband, Steven, of Massachusetts, Tricia Shiflett and her husband, Gorden, of Georgia, Jason Rompallo, of Paxinos, Krystal Rompallo-Klinger and her husband, David, of Marion Heights, Morgan Yarnell and Cassie Allen, of Lavelle, Johanna "Joey" and Kasey Rompallo, of Kulpmont, and Yvonne Derr, of Kulpmont; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Allison and Emily Callahan, of Massachusetts, Taylor and Ryan Shiflett, of Georgia, Zoey Rompallo, of Kulpmont, Brian Rompallo and Aiden Klinger, of Marion Heights, and Lila Yarnell, of Lavelle; a brother, John Landis, of New Jersey, and a sister, Dolores Renn, of Elysburg.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Jean Varano; two other sisters, Helen Foehlinger and Catherine "Kitty" Zigarski; a brother, Sydney "Russie" Landis; twin sisters, Jane and Joan, and another sister, Dorothy, all died in infancy.
KUTCHEN — June E. (Landis) (Rompallo) Kutchen, 82, of 301 N. Sixth St., Apt. 311, Kulpmont. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor, with Brother Bob Delbo officiating. Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 11:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in All Saints Lutheran Cemetery, Kulpmont.
