Madelyn L. Witmer

Madelyn L. Witmer, 90, of Tremont, died Monday, Dec. 24 at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Donaldson, Aug. 12, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Allen E. and Jennie Hubenstine Wendling.

Madelyn was a graduate of Donaldson High School.

She had been employed as an inspector for the former Penn Dye Finishing, Pine Grove.

Madelyn had been a volunteer from 1982 until 1993 at the nutrition center in Tremont.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 57 years, Karl Witmer Sr., on April 19, 1997; five sisters, Ruth, Hilda, Ethel, Arlene and Ersal; and a brother, Kenneth.

Surviving are two sons, Karl L. and his wife, Ann Witmer, Tower City, and Dean E. and his wife, Donna Witmer, Pine Grove; and seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

All services will be held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Ernest Diefenderfer officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
