SHAMOKIN — Marguerite Ann Seger, 76, of South Sixth Street, passed away at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in the emergency room at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township. She was a resident of Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township, for the past three weeks.
She was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Anna (Morovitz) and John Buggy.
Marguerite graduated from St. Edward High School, Shamokin.
After graduation, she married William "Nick" Seger in St. Joseph Church, Coal Township, Feb. 11, 1956.
Marguerite and her husband moved to New Brunswick, N.J., where she raised her family and worked at Gery's Manufacturing until retiring in 1987 and moving back to Shamokin.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township.
Marguerite is survived by a brother, James Buggy, of Coal Township; two granddaughters, Jackie and Robin Seger, of New Hampshire; a great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and the love of her life, her husband, Nick, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and John Seger; three brothers, John, Joseph and Thomas; a step-brother, Walter, and three sisters, Anna, Marion and Agnes.
SEGER — Marguerite Ann Seger, 76, of South Sixth Street, Shamokin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, at Our Lady Of Hope Church, First and Chestnut streets, Coal Township. Interment will follow Mass in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Hope Church, 869 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, 17866.
