Marlene E. Long

HERNDON — Marlene E. Long, 80, of Herndon, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born May 18, 1932, in Elysburg, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Lucenia (Shankweiler) Byerly.

She attended Mahanoy Joint High School.

On April 10, 1982, she married Ned Long, who survives.

She was formerly employed at the Herndon Pizza and Sub Shop.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban.

Marlene enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, crocheting, painting, browsing on her computer, reading and caring for her two cats.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children and their spouses, Luann and Jeffry Wetzel, of Herndon, Jim and Tammy Leitzel, of Lewisburg, and Cheryl and Jeffrey Bordner, of Herndon; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Tyler Barninger, Bradley Wetzel, Jennifer Novinger, Shane and Jennifer Leitzel, Nicholas Leitzel, Brandy and Shawn Chassion, Brianna Winters, Kimberly Bohner, Jeffrey and Deanna Bordner Jr., Mark Leitzel and Adrienne Leitzel, and 11 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Ashlynn, Madeline, Victoria, Blayne, Andrew, Austin, Sebastian, Storm, Kaitlyn and Trent.

She was preceded in death by a son, Craig E. Leitzel.

LONG — Marlene E. Long, 80, of Herndon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury. Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
