KULPMONT — Mary "Minnie" Bressi, 94, of 1263 Scott St., died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the Golden Living Center-Mansion, Sunbury.
She was born in Kulpmont, Oct. 11, 1919, a daughter of the late Anthony and Nunziata (Martello) Padula.
She was educated in St. Mary's Grade School and was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont.
Mary was married in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont, Oct. 12, 1946, to Marlin J. Bressi, who preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1994.
She was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry.
She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels.
She loved tending the roses in her garden, baking, taking care of her grandchildren and celebrating holidays with her family, as well as spending time with her cats, Shadow and Mandy. She also enjoyed taking bus trips with her family to various places.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Zsido and her husband, Gerald Sr., of Elysburg; a son, Marlin Bressi and his wife, Joan, of Milton; five grandchildren, Alaina (Zsido) Paulovkin and her husband, Jonathan, of Philadelphia, Gerald Zsido II, of Philadelphia, Dave Bressi and his wife, Amy, of Shamokin, Marlin Bressi III, of Milton, and Samuel Bressi and his wife, Allison, of Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Taylor and Kaine Bressi; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and T.J.; a brother, Michael Padula, of Lititz; a sister, Concetta Morgan, of Sunbury; two nephews and their spouses who assisted in caring for Mary, Albert Wasilewski and his wife, Maria, and Michael Wasilewski and his wife, Jodi, as well as several other beloved nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, William Bressi, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and a sister-in-law, Louise Staffi, of Tonawanda, N.Y.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Joseph Padula.
BRESSI — Mary "Minnie" Bressi, 94, of 1263 Scott St., Kulpmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday at the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 8 p.m. and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J.
