Mary C. Kolva, 84, formerly of Tower City, and a current resident of the Ecumenical Retirement Community, Harrisburg, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Osteopathic Hospital.
Born in Pillow, November 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Boyer Witmer.
She was a 1947 graduate of the former Elizabethville High School.
Mary retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and had previously been a self employed beautician.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City and its women's guild.
In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by her husband, John "Jack" Kolva, Sr., 2008; three sisters, Pauline Wright, Esther Zerbe and Kathryn Romberger.
She is survived by a son, John "Jack" Kolva, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Hummelstown; two granddaughters, Emily and Jillian; one great granddaughter, Kendyl; her twin brother, John H. Witmer; two sisters, Emma Wolfe and Naomi Stahl; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 5, from Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City with Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
