Maye Edna Keith, 94, of 7550 N. 16th St. Phoenix, AZ died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at The Terraces of Phoenix.
Maye was born in Shamokin, on May 6, 1919, a daughter of the late Maysie (Kahler) Snyder and William Oliver Snyder.
Maye received a bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University and a masters in library science from Drexel University.
She was employed as a librarian and teacher for the states of California and Arizona and had also taught on Indian Reservations in Arizona.
Maye enjoyed traveling, music, bible studies and fondly recalled spending time in Nigeria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Keith, who died on June 21, 2000.
Surviving are two nephews, Lawrence C. Snyder and William R. Bone.
Maye was also preceded in death by three sisters, Hester Keener, Mildred Snyder and Violet Bone, and two brothers Lawrence Snyder and Harlan Snyder.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 14. Interment was in St. John's Reformed Cemetery, Leck Kill. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. To sign the online guest book visit www.srrfh.com.
