Michael D. Cimino

ARISTES — Michael D. Cimino, 58, of 505 Columbia Ave., passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at home.

He was born March 9, 1956, in Shamokin, a son of Mary T. (Janolek) Cimino and the late Samuel F. Cimino Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the area.

Michael was a 1974 graduate of Northumberland County Vo-Tech School and the Mount Carmel Area High School.

On April 1, 1980, in Ashland, he married the former Brenda L. Brobst, who survives.

Michael worked as a maintenance supervisor at various industries.

He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Aristes, where he served as a liturgist. He was a life member of the Clover Hose Company, Mount Carmel, and the Aristes Fire Company, where he served as the past fire chief. He was a past EMT and volunteer with the American Hose Ambulance Association.

Michael was a founding member of the 911 Memorial Committee at the Clover Hose and did volunteer work for the committee. He was a train enthusiast, enjoyed decorating for Christmas and cake decorating.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Nicholas Mekosh, of Linglestown; two daughters, Brenda Wilner and her husband, Jack, of Mahanoy City, and Melissa Mekosh, of Mount Carmel; three grandsons, John "Jack" Wilner II, Edward Wilner and Seth Mekosh; a great-grandson; six brothers, Samuel Cimino, of Mount Carmel, Joseph Cimino, of Middletown, Thomas Cimino, of Mount Carmel, Philip "Bing" Cimino, of Mount Carmel, Jeffrey "Mat" Cimino, of Mount Carmel, and Daniel "Mooney" Cimino, of Mount Carmel; sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his beloved dog, Kolby.

CIMINO — Michael D. Cimino, 58, of 505 Columbia Ave., Aristes. A funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Bonnie Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Aristes Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
