Mildred I. "Millie" Shively

LANSDALE — Mildred I. "Millie" Shively, 90, formerly of Lansdale, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Girardville, Aug. 21, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Herman J. and Sadie (Maurer) Ahrensfield.

Millie was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. McLane, who died in 1950, and her second husband, Lawrence M. Shively, who died in 1997.

She honorably served her country in the Women's Army Corps during World War II.

For many years, Millie worked as a secretary for the North Penn School District. She went on to work for Mid County Transportation until her retirement, where she was an aide for individuals with special needs.

She and her husband, Lawrence, enjoyed traveling the country, and the two especially enjoyed camping together. Millie was a lifelong, dedicated member of Montgomery Baptist Church in Colmar and will be greatly missed.

Millie is survived by three children, Sharon A. Miller, and her husband, Earl, of Ashland, Debbie Shively, and her companion, Cindy Barns, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Larry Shively, and his wife, Laurie Schatz, of Calabash, N.C.; a son-in-law, Kenneth Hill, and his wife, Trish, of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Heather Andrews, Shannon Hilliard, Jennifer Miller, Toni O'Connell, Anthony Hill, Justin Hill, Julia Johnson, Ian Hill and Noah Hill; six beloved great-grandchildren, Dakota Andrews, Brayden Andrews, Kassidy Hilliard, Karissa Hilliard, Barbara O'Connell and Justin Hill, and a brother, Kenneth Ahrensfield, and his wife, Betty, of Souderton.

In addition to her husbands, Millie was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jeanne Hill, who died in 1998, and her sister, Evelyn Marquardt, who died in 2011.


SHIVELY — Mildred I. "Millie" Shively, 90, formerly of Lansdale. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. There will be an opportunity to view and greet the family after 9 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Millie's honor to Montgomery Baptist Church, 510 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar 18915.
