Richard N. Daub (also known as Drahcir Buad), 78, of Tower City, died at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 after a long battle with heart disease.
Born in Orwin, October 3, 1935 he was one of the triplet sons of the late Harold A. and Grace Bendigo Daub. The Daub triplets were headline news in 1935 as they were all born at home with the doctors not knowing there would be a multiple birth.
Rich graduated from Porter Township High School in 1953, and attended Albright College, in Reading.
He was employed by the family business for many years, the former H.A. Daub Trucking and Bus Company; and the former Williams Valley Transportation Company. He retired from his position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at Fort Indiantown Gap.
In addition to his parents he is predeceased by brothers, William and Roger Daub.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Correne Lodish Daub; three daughters, Carol Kasper and her husband Frank; Jayne Thompson and her husband Darryl; Patti Spittle and her husband James, all of Tower City; six grandchildren, Amy Kasper Lake and her husband Bill; Angie Kasper, and Frank Kasper III, all of Tower City; Tyler and Cole Spittle, Tower City, and Christopher Spittle, Harrisburg; four great-grandchildren, Kassy, Kacy, Robert and Ryan Lake of Tower City; his triplet brother, Ronald Daub and his wife Marie of Muir; sister-in-laws, Cindy Daub, Tower City and Anna Daub, Ephrata; nieces and nephews.
