ELYSBURG — Robert Edwin Gruneberg, 46, of 186 E. Center St., died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, suddenly in his residence.
He was born in Bethesda, Md., June 13, 1967, a son of George Edwin Gruneberg and Mildred Parkins. He was a resident of Elysburg for six years.
He graduated in 1985 from Shamokin Area High School.
Robert was married in Locust Gap by J. Kevin Jones June 16, 2001, to Veronica Weber, who survives at home. He was a loving and devoted husband.
He was a heavy equipment operator of Local 542. He also owned Knocker's Billiards and Second Chance Bar and Grill.
He attended Elysburg Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of Local 542 Heavy Equipment, Uniontown Fire Company, Red Men's Lodge and Pastime Club.
He was a loving and caring person who helped everyone. He did fundraisers and donations to all who asked and treated his workers as members of his family.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by a son, Robert E. Gruneberg II, of Philadelphia; two daughters, Niaka Gruneberg, of Philadelphia, and Nicole Marra, of Texas; a grandson, Ethan Aldrete; a father, George E. Gruneberg, of Shamokin; two sisters, Christine Meredith, of Shamokin, and Tina Taylor, and nieces and nephews.
GRUNEBERG — Robert Edwin Gruneberg, 46, of 186 E. Center St., Elysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Farrow Funeral Home, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, with the Rev. David Butler officiating. A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
