ELIZABETHTOWN — Robert Kersey, 91, formerly of Elysburg, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown.
He was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Lancaster, a son of the late John and Myrtle (Wesley) Kersey.
He resided in Delaware until 1984, when he and his wife moved to Elysburg.
He was a 1942 graduate of Alexis I. Dupont High School, Wilmington, Del.
He married Jean (Willard) Kersey, who preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2012.
Robert worked as a lab technician for more than 20 years, last working for Hercules Inc., before his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Elysburg United Methodist Church, and a past master of Washington Lodge No. 1 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a member of the Wilmington, Del. Consistory and NUR Temple Shrine, of Wilmington, Del. Robert was also a member of the Elysburg Fire Company, and he was an avid golfer.
Surviving is a sister, Ruth J. Bramm, of Wilmington, Del., and several nieces and nephews.
KERSEY — Robert Kersey, 91, formerly of Elysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ray W. Rothermel Funeral Home, 387 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg, with the Rev. Michelle Beissel officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
